Nandi, Shiva's Bull
The guide book gives no indication of how old this is, but the one in Bangalore is from 1786. Nandi is the sacred Hindu bull, vehicle of Shiva. The one in Bangalore appears to be leaning slightly to one side (as bovines tend to do when resting) where as this one seems to be more upright. The shiny appearance is from coconut oil, that the priests apply to keep it moist. Nicely carved and HUGE (you just gotta see it in person)
